Dear God

can i just come home to You now? free me now, please? you know today i feel like You don’t love me, or You love someone else better, or You never loved me all this time. i just don’t get why you keep letting these things happen to me. maybe you have something bigger in store for me and i know this thought of You is wrong. i know should count my blessings. but can i ask just a little? please just hug me right now. that would be enough. and thank you so much for listening to me. i know deep within me that You do love me. and i thank you for that. i hope i could do the same to You.

A Last Resort? by Zig Ziglar and Dr. Ike Reighard

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God" Philippians 4:6

WORRY CAN EAT OUR LUNCH. During the day, we worry that we cannot do enough, and at night, we worry that everything we’ve done will fall apart. We replay conversations to find something we’ve said that could be misunderstood, and we beat ourselves up for being so stupid. We worry about our marriage or, if we aren’t married, about never finding a spouse; we worry about things at home, and when we’re at home, we can’t stop thinking about all the things that could go wrong at work.

Into this cesspool of destructive thinking Paul says,”Be anxious for nothing.” “Yeah, right,” we are tempted to say. “He doesn’t understand what I’m going through.” Well, actually he does. Paul had plenty to worry about, but he learned to fix his thoughts on the goodness and greatness of God (see Philippians 4:8), and he practiced the habit of prayer. Prayer can’t coexist for long in the same mental space with worry; one will crowd the other out.

Many times we forget to pray, but when we fail to pray, we miss out on the source of peace, hope, and joy. When we pray about everything, thank God for His wisdom, and trust Him for His will to be done in His timing, we can experience God’s amazing peace even in the most difficult circumstances. God will listen to every request.

What are some things you tend to worry about?

Take some time right now to pray about them, thank God for His wisdom and strength, and trust Him for His timing.

Noah: Will you just stay with me?
Allie: Stay with you? What for? Look at us, we’re already fighting!
Noah: Well, that’s what we do. We fight. You tell me when I am being an arrogant son-of-a-bitch and I tell you when you’re being a pain in the ass… which you are, 99% of the time. I’m not afraid to hurt your feelings. You have like a two-second rebound rate and then you’re back doing the next pain-in-the-ass thing.
Allie: So, what?
Noah: So, it’s not gonna be easy. It’s gonna be really hard. We’re gonna have to work at this every day, but I wanna do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever, you and me, every day.

Rain Day by Avalon McLean-Smits

"We’re just afraid, period. Our fear is free floating. We’re afraid this isn’t the right relationship, or we’re afraid it is. We’re afraid they won’t like us, or we’re afraid they will. We’re afraid of failure or we’re afraid of success. We’re afraid of dying young or growing old. We’re more afraid of life than we are death."

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He also has planted eternity in men’s hearts and minds, a divinely implanted sense of a purpose working through the ages which nothing under the sun but God alone can satisfy (Ecclesiastes 3:11 AMP).
God has placed eternity in the hearts of mankind. Everything we experience not only serves a purpose here on earth, but it serves a purpose for eternity. Right now, God is working in you and putting inside of you everything you need to fulfill your eternal destiny. He is making you ready to rule and reign with Him. As long as you are moving forward and gaining strength, you are gaining eternal victory.
View what’s going on in your life with an eternal perspective. You have a higher calling; you have a greater purpose. Focus on what God is doing in your life. Don’t allow the little irritations to get you off course or distract you from what God has called you to do. Open your heart and mind and allow Him to prepare you for eternity. As you keep an eternal perspective and stay determined to be who God has called you to be you will see His hand moving in your life and you will live as an overcomer now and throughout eternity.

"And just like that he picked her up and dusted her off. Without even trying. That’s how their love was. When she was at her worst, he saw her at her best."
